Akaroa

Die ganze Zeit in Christchurch war uns dann doch etwas langweilig und so beschlossen wir spontan einen Kurztripp nach Akaroa zu machen. Vormittags in der Wäscherei hatten wir ein Prospekt in die Hand bekommen, dass dort ein Konzert stattfinden sollte. Zusammen mit der schönen Natur dort also auf jeden Fall was für uns!
Leider war -wie schon erwähnt- das Wetter nicht so das Beste und somit konnte man teilweise die umwerfend schöne Natur nur erahnen.


Since it was raining in Christchurch most of the time, we even managed to do our laundry ;-). And surprisingly we found a little brochure at the laundry place saying there would be a concert in Akaroa, actually a series of concerts. So we went there and enjoyed a wonderful evening with classic music played by very talented musicians. Besides the concert Akaraoa is supposed to be a very beautiful place with a predominant french flair. Unfortunately the bad weather hid quite a bit of the beauty from us.

Bei gutem Wetter ein Traumblick, doch selbst bei schlechtem Wetter schön anzusehen (even in bad weather nice to look at):

Kochen im Auto- so gehts: Es gibt lecker Fisch. (freshly prepared fish for dinner, we had to cook inside the car due to the persistant rain)

Abends beim Konzert. Es gab ein schönes Programm von Mozart über Debussy, Weber und Ravel. (at the concert, the musicians including their instruments varied. The violin, harp, piano, flute and others were used for compositions by Mozart, Debussy, Weber and Ravel)Blick von unserem Schlafplatz in Akaroa auf das Wasser. Schon etwas besser vom Wetter, aber leider immer noch sehr bedeckt. (even the next morning was quite cloudy)

Akaroa gehört zu den "101 must do's für Kiwis", weil dort ein ganz eigener, französischer Charme vorherscht.
Das sieht man in jeder noch so kleinen Stadt, Dorf, ... Ein War Memorial:
Auf dem Rückweg nach Christchurch. Die Berge waren in den Wolken verschwunden und es ergab sich ein lustiges Bild, als wenn jemand die Berge abgeschnitten hätte.
The peninsula wich Akaroa is part of offers a summit route, but as you can see the clouds are extremly low we had no chance of taking that route without getting stuck in dense clouds.
