So langsam geht die Sonne auf, kurz hinter Greymouth (sunrise and we are still shortly past Greymouth):

... da ist sie endlich. Ein schöner Blick während ich mit meiner Wedding-Planerin am Skypen war ;o) (the first sun rays touched the sea while Carina was skyping with our wedding planner in Germany)

I admit we didn't find any gold nuggets in Arrowtown but I'm not giving up on it yet...):

Weiter gehts, die Westcoast entlang (we are more keen on driving and keep going along the Westcoast):

Nach Punakaiki zu den Pancake-Rocks (a short stop to visit the pancake rocks at Punakaiki. They are very famous as you can see, in the middle of no where you find toilets, souvenir shops and tourist busses.):

the sea is constantly beating against massive rocks and if they don't crumble and fall, the water undercuts them and creates holes like this:

(the pancake rocks, I'm sure a geologist could explain how they came to be)

happy couple plus pancake rocks,

Carina walking through the pancake rocks

Jürgen ist inzwischen schon Spezialist im backen ;o) (one of Carina's favourite meals are pancakes and they almost look like the pancake rocks we've seen)

(There is nothing better in the world than to make your wife happy, I was preparing some more pancakes while she was enjoying this one. The only annoying thing were again sandflys.)

(quite to our surprise we barely had any rain at the West coast but we kept on driving because we want to get to Abel Tasman before we sell our car.)
Am Buller River:

Spektakulär: Hawks Crag- eine Straße in den Felsen geschlagen. Ein großer Reisebus kommt hier GRADE SO lang (Hawks Crag, you can see there is not much room for any large vehicles as the road had to be cut through the stone):

(this is the longest suspension bridge, which probably only exists because there are tourist who pay for crossing it. There is also a flying fox right beside it for all who do not want to walk. A picture was sufficient for us.)

... und sind weiter gefahren um ca. 30 km vor Nelson einen wunderschönen Sternenhimmel bewundern zu können (shortly before Nelson it was getting dark and we found a nice lookout to spend the night. Since there are hardly any city lights you can see the stars in the night sky very easily. I took this picture without any tracking device, therefore the picture is not as sharp as the one's I took on Mt. John at Lake Tekapo.):
