(after we came back from Glenorchy we wanted to look down on Queenstown from its Skyline platform. You can take the Gondola up and down or like us just down. The way up was free and you didn't need to book a tour *yeaah*)... oder eine Stunde zu Fuß den Berg hinauflaufen... I was quite surprised that Carina decided to walk up and not to take the Gondola. We both need exercise and this climb was very welcome. It took us about an hour to get up, the climb was pretty steep at the beginning and became very moderate once you got on the gravel road to the Skyline platform.)
(The view was of course worth the walk up)
bottom left is Queenstown, right above it the River "Anduin" - if you turn right you'll get to Glenorchy

(the Skyline platform has several adventure possibilities, of course you can bungy jump, paraglide or simple dine at the restaurant)this is Queenstown with the Remarkables in back
the Gondola, Queenstown, River Anduin, Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables from bottom to top
so sieht eine Gondell von innen aus (that's one of the old gondolas you would have come up in the 60s or 70s):
Der Sonnenuntergang war fantastisch (we had an incredible sunset...)
... der Mond auch (with a big moon on the other side)
Queenstown bei Nacht (and Queenstown underneath):
(it was too dark to walk back down and we surely wanted a to ride with the gondola back to the car park. You can find a kiwi sanctuary right at the car park too.)
Seltsames Partyleben hier...
(Queenstown = Party town or at least that's what's being said. We were a bit early and had to wait till after 11pm for the first DJ's to show up. No problem with that, we got back into town and some locations were already rocking. We picked one where we liked the music and were happy to dance again. It was just too bad that around midnight almost everyone disappeared. We found out that's called Party rotation, people go to different clubs hang out for maybe an hour and move on. The only bad thing about it was once they dessert a club the party is over. I don't know if there are not enough people in Queenstown but nobody came to that club in exchange. Well, that was just too odd for us and we went back to the car because the other clubs were not too promising. Anyways we did party in Party Town!)
