Endlich geht es weiter...

Nach einer Woche Aufenthalt in Invercargill hat es uns dann aber auch gereicht und wir waren froh, als wir weiter fuhren.
Und so ging es weiter die Southern Route entlang...

Finally after one week in Invercargill it was time to get going again. We drove along the Southern Scenic Route to Riverton...

... über Riverton... (just an old church in Riverton)
... an sehr seltsamen Schildern vorbei... (kann uns das jmd erklären? Ist Campen jetzt erlaubt oder nicht?!?) (came along pretty beaches with strange signs. Usually if camping is not allowed, the symbols are crossed out, but in this particular case we were not sure what was meant...)
... ein kurzer Zwischenstop bei Monkey Island... (one very important stop was Monkey Island, I never assumed I would ever see the little Island which should ring bells by everyone my generation. You should have heard about it during childhood, especially in connection with computer games :-))
... Jürgen war sehr begeistert. Es gab wohl in seiner Jugend (also schon echt lange her *g*) ein Computerspiel, das so heißt...
... eine kleine Wanderung an den Rakatu Wetlands. Jürgen musste sofort an seinen alten Biolehrer denken... (the Rakatu Wetlands are a very beautiful place. I know my old biology teacher would have loved this place. Well it's just too bad that this place was artificially created by men. New Zealand nature is very impressive but you always have to look twice whether human hands helped a little )
...eine kleine Verschnaufspause am McCrackens Rest, um die schöne Aussicht zu genießen... (this is McCrackens Rest, a beautiful shore with great waves...)

...eine Hängebrücke bei Clifden... (an old and unused suspension bridge near Clifden)
... bis wir dann nachmittags in Manapouri ankamen. Von Manapouri aus starten die Bootsfahrten zum Doubtful Sound, die wir am nächsten Tag machen wollten. Somit hatten wir jetzt Zeit, den schönen Sonnenuntergang am Lake Manapouri zu genießen...
(we arrived at Manapouri in the afternoon and spend the rest of the day at the lake. We enjoyed a wonderful sunset and were happy that we booked a boat trip for the next day to see Doubtful Sound)
... und dabei einen kleinen Happen (Ravioli aus der Dose *g*) zu Essen. (Carina in full multi tasking mode. She made some Ravioli and was coming down to the lake shore, while filming the sunset.)
